HIV; Outpatient Clinic

Lady in yellow-striped shirt is Phang Paiouk, 49 years old. She comes here twice a month and has been on treatment since 2010. She is a widow and has one foster child. She found the kid on the street abounded by its parents, and took him/her in. The child is 14 years old now (not in photos). Paiouk washes clothes for a living. She currently has some muscle problems in her legs, but otherwise healthy.
Though initially she suffered from stigma, people turned around after they learned more about the disease through various community-based health activities aimed at raising awareness.

300 patients currently receive ART support at this clinic, 200 of them are on ART, 100 on "pre-ART". The is no HIV ward, only at the main hospital. One issue is lack of equipment, for example radiography.
