Patients and staff in the courtyard of the Integrated Addiction Treatment Centre (CEPIAD), University Hospital Centre of Fann, Dakar, Senegal on June 19, 2015. A methadone dispensary program began at the centre on February 2, 2015. It is the only centre in Senegal treating addicts with methadone and along with Morocco they are the only two countries in West Africa implementing such programs. The Global Fund paid for the renovation of the building in 2014 and will begin to finance the methadone and some salaries of staff working at the centre.
