Ousmane Gaye, ex-drug user and peer community worker speaks at the Integrated Addiction Treatment Center (CEPIAD), University Hospital Center of Fann, Dakar, Senegal on June 19, 2015. Ousmane identifies drug users living in the community and introduces them to the center. A methadone dispensary program began at the centre on February 2, 2015. It is the only centre in Senegal treating beneficiaries with methadone and along with Morocco they are the only two countries in West Africa implementing such programs. The Global Fund paid for the renovation of the building in 2014 and will begin to finance the methadone and some salaries of staff working at the center.
