Community health workers in Kanyach Kachar area in Homa Bay County in Kenya gather outside a local health facility. The community health workers have been fighting malaria in their community, now they are on the frontlines of the fight against COVID-19.

Working under a community organization called Kinda Women Group, the community health workers are supported by Amref Health Africa and the Global Fund. They have been provided with basic personal protective equipment on top of malaria commodities to enable them to continue the important work of testing and treating people affected by malaria as well as to offer information on how to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
