Indonesia has the world’s highest burden of tuberculosis after India, and is also home to a large number of drug-resistant TB patients. The Global Fund is supporting the country’s efforts to find more cases and improve treatment adherence. Aris Setiawan, a drug-resistant TB patient, visits Jakarta’s Persahabatan Hospital every day to follow his treatment. “I have to do this for my family. I have two children and want to go back to work when I am cured,” said Aris, 36.
