Fatuma in her light and dark blue school uniform has her measurement of upper arm circumference (MUAC) taken by Abdail a community health worker working on the seasonal malaria chemoprevention campaign. In order to make sure that children are not malnourished, the MUAC is done and malnourished children are referred for treatment to the health center. Niger has high rates of malnutrition in children under 5 and suffers from food insecurity across the country. Fatuma's MUAC reads green and is a good weight for her age.
