He carries a tablet with the eMpower app developed by IBM Global Fund and the India HIV/AIDS Alliance, which eliminates the piles of paperwork generated from monitoring more than a million people in HIV treatment and prevention programs in India. Among the vulnerable communities that have benefitted from this application are India’s transgender and intersex people, known as the hijras, or “third sex."
