“It doesn’t just affect those with low income.”
Jacqueline never imagined she would get TB.
Jacqueline comes form a big family, 9 brothers and sisters. She is a single mum with two children.
She is supposed to be a very energetic presenter. Unfortunately, we were not able to see her in action in her community.
Interview with Jacqueline Jovel at the Quinta Real Hotel. Jacqueline is a recovered MDR-TB patient and was recently appointment CCM member, elected by her own community
She also educates others in her community about TB, and helps with early detection of cases. Her main goal is to motivate patients to adhere to treatment. She tells them to work hard, and pull through. Jacqueline herself knows how much discipline is required, having endured 2 years of treatment.
She loves the interaction with people. Considers it a miracle that she recovered, and act of God. One lung had to be surgically removed. She looks great and healthy, but has trouble taking the stairs.
