Like 70% of the children in her class in Kimpese, Bas Congo, Fortunne (age 13) caught malaria several months ago. After being treated in hospital and cured, she explains to her class how to avoid being bitten by mosquitoes which cause malaria. Her entire family now sleeps under an insecticide-treated net,distributed by a program receiving Global Fund support.
