Valentin, Anna and their son Clemence have not fallen ill with malaria since receiving an insecticide-treated net which protects them from mosquitoes which transmit the disease. The Government of Chad, with support from the Global Fund and UNICEF, launched a mass campaign earlier this year to distribute nearly 7.3 million mosquito nets throughout the country. The joint campaign is the first time that Chad will have achieved universal coverage with long-lasting insecticidal nets, or LLINs.
