Earlier in the day, she and other seasonal workers in the village received nets to protect herself and her family against malaria. Focusing prevention efforts on specific populations such as migrant and seasonal workers – who are particularly vulnerable because of their mobility – will enable the government’s malaria control program to have a greater impact and reduces the chance that these workers will bring the malaria parasite to new communities when they move to their next job.
