PLWA; Home visit to PLWA
Tuk tuk driver Taing Soktry (48/m) was forced out of his former home elsewhere in town because the land was sold/leased to a company ("land grab") to develop new homes in the area. He got 4000 USD for his place, but is now essentially homeless. He fought til the end. He now stays at his cousin's place until he finds a new home. That's where the photos are taken with his wife and son.
Wife is called Khim Chan Saath (44 /f), who is also HIV-positive. There are four children: the only one on treatment is 16-year-old Toun Ratha, i.e. the boy we see in the red shirt. He has been on treatment since 2004. Before that, he was frequently sick. He and his siblings all go to school, but his friends do not know about his status. We see taRaths take his treatment before his mother takes him to school on a motorbike. He likes reading and taekwondo, and looks/feels very healthy. The family on four live with 21 (!) others in this two-story apartment.
Once a week a health order briefly visits the family to check how they are doing.
