Protecting 10 Million People Against Malaria in Chad
PHOTO OF THE WEEK (25 SEPTEMBER 2014) - In Kelo (Chad) Lahidy Brigitte, right, receives a ticket which she will be able to redeem for a free insecticide-treated net to protect her family from malaria. A mass distribution campaign launched by the government earlier this year has successfully distributed nearly 7.3 million nets, enabling 10 million people to be protected and allowing Chad to achieve universal coverage for the first time with the new generation of long-lasting insecticidal nets. Each household is registered and verified as part of the distribution.
