After lunch time, a visit to the village of Krachapleu in Pailin district. An educational malaria session is being held at the local elementary school for all villagers. Roughly 90 people have come here today to learn about malaria prevention. The local VMW (Village Malaria Worker), wearing a bright blue shirt, does the teaching. He talks about what is a "vector", how malaria is transmitted, what are the symptoms, services available, how malaria is treated, and how it can be prevented. Sessions like these take place about once a month and take between 30-60 minutes. Name of the VMW is Pytaeavy and is 34 years old.

The village has 154 families and 630 people. 8 People get tested for malaria after the session. One girl (photo ID!) tested positive and gets treatment on the spot.
