At the home of the VMW we see the sibling of the girl who tested positive for malaria get tested as well. Mother is present. Mother is called Sokny (27), the girl who tested positive i called Nang Soknay (3f), the boy tests negative and is called (Nang Sievhong, 4 years old). The mother says the girl had high fever 3 days ago. Three months ago, she had malaria as well. The mother is aware of the free VMW health services but decided to wait for testing until today's education session. Mother is a corn/soja bean farmer, lives here for six years. She is happy that free treatment is available, because she would otherwise no the able to afford it.
VMW Pytaeavy became a volunteer in 2009. His mother was assigned by the village chief to become the VMW but her lack of writing skills limited her ability to make reports. Besides, she was doing other health volunteer work which made it difficult to combine. Pytaeavy said he was ready to take on the responsibility, and he was chosen in the end He loves helping other people in the village. The most difficult thing about his work, however, is people knocking on his door asking for help really early in the morning when he's still sleeping, or while he's having lunch. But he's used to it now. Is a farmer as well.
