The fact that Sihlelelwe Lombe was born HIV-negative was an enormous source of joy and relief for his mother, who is HIV-positive. Years earlier an elder daughter was born HIV-positive, in part because Gabsile didn’t know her own status at the time. When learned that she would have another baby, Gabsile and her husband resolved to do everything they could to follow the preventative treatment (PMTCT) offered at Baylor Clinic, near Mbabane, Swaziland. Today, Sihlelelwe’s health and HIV-negative status are the happy outcome.
