Samaira (21, left) is an outreach worker for Vihaan, a community-based project that provides HIV counselling and support to members of the hijra community (transgender) in India. Hijras face widespread discrimination in India, and have high HIV infection rates. Global Fund-supported projects like Vihaan aim to provide HIV care and treatment to vulnerable groups.
