Dr. Jargal B., a doctor and lecturer at the Health Sciences University of Mongolia, educates sex workers in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia on how to manage the stress unique to their work. The two-day training, put on by the Global Fund-supported NGO “Perfect Ladies,” covers topics like HIV and STI prevention, safety, voluntary counseling and testing, stress management, and other sexual and reproductive health themes. The sex workers participating, mainly aged 16 t0 25, will act as peer educators by sharing their new knowledge with other sex workers on the streets, in massage parlors and in other places where they work in the country’s capital. June 2019.

Each sex worker at the training will go on to educate 3-5 other sex workers. With Global Fund support, Perfect Ladies puts on sessions like these every quarter, in addition to offering mobile testing and visits, focus groups, and vocational training to learn skills to acquire other jobs such as cooking and accounting.
